Precautions in Use

When applying MAXISEAL it is strongly recommended that all safety precautions are followed as per data sheet. As the product contains solvent ensure that all sources of ignition are kept away. Ensure area is well ventilated. Adequate masks should be worn when spraying. Protect surrounds against overspray. Observe all precautions on the Material Safety Data Sheet. In exposed areas, do not apply if rain is immenent and protect coating from rain and inclement weather until fully cured.

Priming and Surface Preparation

Good preparation is essential. Surfaces must be sound, stable, dry, clean and free of dust, loose, flaking, friable material and substances that may diminish adhesion.

All surfaces must be clean, dry,of sound construction, stable and free of any dust, dirt, grease, oil, curing compounds or contaminates that might interfere with adhesion.

MAXISEAL can be applied by brush, roller or spray at the following minimum application rates(increase rates for highly porous surfaces):
As an encapsulating binder: Two coats at 4 sq m per liter per coat. Product should be worked well into the substrate.
Clear weatherproof sealer: Two coats at 4 sq m per litre per coat.
As a primer: One coat at 4 sq m per litre.
Trafficable 'wet - look' finish: Three coats at 4 sq m per litre per coat.
CAUTION: Sealed surfaces may become slippery when wet.
Substrates should be clean, dry and sound.
Allow each coat to dry before applying each additional coat.
For best results apply subsequent coats within 24 hours of the previous coat.
Equipment must be cleaned with Duram SOLVENT immediately after used.
DO NOT allow solvent to enter drains.

Application Experience
We recommend that the product is applied by person with the appropriate skills and experience for the type of product. The acceptability of the surface is the responsibility of the applicator.

The stated average coverage rate may vary depending upon type, condition, porosity, texture of the surface and application technique.

General coverage rate for MAXISEAL is 4 sq m per litre per coat but it dependant on the porosity of the surface the product is being applied to.

MAXISEAL is a clear product.

Colour Batches
Whilst care is taken to accurately colour match, batch to batch variations may occur for reasons which may be beyond our control. We strongly advise that project requirements are ordered in a single batch lot to avoid colour matching from batch to batch. Minimum quantities and tinting charges may apply.

Contractor Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the contractor or applicator to ensure that the colour is within specification prior to its application. The Company shall not be liable for any colour variations after the product has been applied. Further, the applicator should use product for touch-ups from the same batches used to do the original coats.
